Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using ReceiptKeeper ("the app," "we," "our"). By downloading, installing, or using ReceiptKeeper, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using ReceiptKeeper, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

ReceiptKeeper is a receipt management application designed to help users scan, organize, and store medical expense receipts for HSA (Health Savings Account) reimbursement tracking. The app provides tools for document scanning, OCR text extraction, categorization, and export functionality.

3. Not Financial or Tax Advice

Important: ReceiptKeeper is a receipt storage and organization tool. It does not provide financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. The educational content about HSA triple tax advantages is for informational purposes only. You should consult with a qualified financial advisor or tax professional regarding your specific HSA strategy, investment decisions, and tax obligations. We are not responsible for any financial decisions you make based on information presented in the app.

4. Account & Subscriptions

Free Tier: ReceiptKeeper offers a free tier that includes core functionality with a limit of 25 stored receipts.

Premium Subscription: Premium features (unlimited receipts, PDF reports and full export) are available through auto-renewing subscriptions at the following prices:

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account via the App Store. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

5. Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period for Premium features. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged the applicable subscription fee. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple and may be limited to one trial per Apple ID.

6. Your Data

You own all data you create within ReceiptKeeper, including scanned receipts, images, and metadata. We do not claim any ownership or intellectual property rights over your content. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your data is handled.

7. iCloud Storage

If you enable iCloud storage, your data is stored in your personal iCloud Drive account and is subject to Apple's iCloud Terms of Service and storage limits. ReceiptKeeper is not responsible for data loss due to iCloud service outages, insufficient iCloud storage, or changes to Apple's iCloud service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Patrick Lane and ReceiptKeeper shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or financial losses resulting from the use or inability to use the app, inaccurate OCR results, or reliance on information provided by the app.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Patrick Lane from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the app or violation of these Terms.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to Premium features if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use Premium features ceases, but your locally stored data remains accessible to you.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.

15. Apple's Standard EULA

As an app distributed through the Apple App Store, usage is also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).
